The cultures are part of the Agricultural Research Service Culture Collection located in the Microbial Genomics and Bioprocessing Research Unit which is part of the National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research.

The original prefixes and culture numbers have been retained, to allow tracing any given culture in the published ecological and taxonomic literature, but are preceded by “NRRL” to indicate that the cultures currently are a part of the USDA collection at Peoria.

To order a culture contact one of the curators of the collection.

You may order up to 12 cultures per request and a maximum of 24 cultures per year.
